We offer you a simple to prepare, yet special treat.
It's a very nice gesture to surprise your partner with some delicious treats on the occasion of the Day of Lovers. Don't know what to do yet? This ingenious recipe is sure to be a hit! (The portion is exceptionally for 2 people.)
Ingredients for about 12 pieces:
30 dkg flour + for stretching | 1 + 1 tablespoon icing sugar for serving | pinch of salt | 1 egg + 1 egg for spreading | 10 dkg butter/margarine | 1 large tablespoon sour cream | 2 dl thick strawberry jam (can be replaced with any red jam)
- Mix the flour with 1 tablespoon of icing sugar, salt, 1 egg, melted butter/margarine and sour cream in a bowl. Knead into a homogeneous dough and shape immediately.
- On a floured surface, stretch it to a thickness of about 3 mm and cut into squares of about 12×12 cm. Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to shape the falling pieces into hearts
- Place the squares one by one on a baking sheet lined with baking paper (once formed, they cannot be moved), scoop 1-1 spoonful of jam into the centre, then fold 3 corners towards the centre.
- Brush with the beaten egg, place the heart on top and brush with the beaten egg. Bake in a preheated oven at 180ºC for about 20 minutes. Serve sprinkled with icing sugar.
