Orchids in the fridge? Surprising decor trend takes over

The latest craze is seen by many as a new-rich fad.

What do you keep in your fridge? Probably food that needs refrigeration, maybe medicine or even cosmetics that need to be kept at a low temperature. That's supposed to be a thing of the past: this year it's time to decorate your fridge - from the inside.

This fresh and surprisingly popular trend encourages us to not just use the fridge to store food and drink, but to transform it into a kind of art exhibition. You can add flowers, vases, vases, a vase or even a porcelain pin - the only limit is your imagination and your budget.

How does the cat get into the fridge?

The trend for decorating the inside of the fridge was started by TikTok user Eve Scampoli, better known as @gardenof_eve, when she posted a video of her surprising habit on social media (she's been sharing her latest fridge decorations regularly ever since).

For example, his fridge is decorated with decorative elements such as live orchids, eucalyptus branches, and even a framed photo of her cat on the shelves.

According to her, the fridge is where almost all of our guests look when they come over and judge us one way or another on the inside of our fridge. So, he asks: why not decorate it to please the eye (and make a good impression on others)?

In an interview with Today, Scampoli said that behind the decorating of her fridge are family traditions and her own taste. When she was a child, Sundays were spent cleaning and cooking in the family, preparing dishes in the Italian tradition. This is how she has retained the idea that food - and the refrigerator in particular - plays a key role in a family's life and is an important part of the home.

When she moved away from home and had to look after her own meals, she had to learn to shop wisely and manage her food frugally. A

sees the interior of the fridge as a way of expressing herself, showing her style and creativity,

and also expresses respect for the home appliance. In addition, of course, decorating gives her pleasure and fun, and gives her the opportunity to use her everyday environment creatively.

How to decorate the inside of your fridge!

Commenters had mixed reactions to Scampoli's fridge. Many were impressed and inspired, while others found the whole decoration rather odd and unnecessary, calling it a newfangled fad.

Moreover, although it is undoubtedly eye-catching, it is not necessarily a practical solution for those who like to shop in bulk, as the decorations mean that much less food can fit in the fridge.

But one thing is clear: this trend is becoming increasingly popular in online communities, and more and more people are interested in individually decorated fridges. Here are some tips to help you get started:

1. Organisation and organisation

The first step is to get your fridge in order. Use storage boxes, baskets or bins to group and organise food. This makes it easier to see and access food and reduces chaos.

2. Colours and patterns

Choose colourful and patterned storage boxes or baskets to add interest to your fridge interior. Consider the style and colours of the rest of your home to harmonise with each other.

3. Green plants and flowers

Adding live plants or artificial flowers can give your fridge a fresh and natural look. You can place a small vase or pots on the shelves or in the fridge door to brighten up the space.

4. Decorative objects

Place a few decorative objects in the fridge, such as photo frames, ceramics, glass containers or small ornaments. These small accessories will make your fridge personal and unique. Featured image by Canva
